Resolve to feel great and live the life you want!

It’s here, 2015! You’re probably getting inundated by resolution emails, blogs, and Facebook updates about how to have your best 2015 ever, right? You might not do anything at all because of it, or maybe you just don’t care about resolutions at all since they never seem to work out. After all, what’s all the fuss about anyway – it’s just another year, isn’t it?
Well maybe it has nothing to do with your year, but you’re just burnt out from a busy holiday season. Now you’re back at work, back to the grind, and wishing life were a bit different. You may feel stuck, that you’re missing that little piece of knowledge that would walk you right over to the Promised Land, or at least someplace more comfortable. Let’s have a go at it, shall we?
What if we reverse-engineer our goals and intentions and boil them down to what is really important? The reason we do anything is the reason we do everything: we are looking to feel a certain way. When you get a new car, buy yourself a latte, or go to work, it’s because you are looking for a feeling. You are looking to feel safe, secure, prosperous, comforted, nurtured, or something else – you just may not actively realize this. So what if you decided to feel how you wanted to feel and then led your life from there?
This concept is not a new one, but because we live in the United States, many of us have the idea that we have to strive for everything, work hard, push forward. No pain, no gain! We grow up thinking that if we work hard at a job we hate, we’ll have money to retire and then be able to do what we want to do. What if you instead decided you wanted to feel ease in your life and cut out anything that didn’t enhance that feeling? What if you nurtured the feeling you wanted? Then you ate good food, you slept enough, you hugged people who supported you more, you created space in your life to feel nurtured? Just imagine how great that would be! How would your life change?
Time to change things up, folks. Time to start living how you want to feel every day. So tell me, how do you want to feel this year? In your job? In your car? While walking the dog? While out with your friends? In your life? Start there, and work your way forward.
