Power of the Group: Want more eyeballs on YOUR book this holiday season?

If we’re honest as authors, there’s one thing we want from Santa this year, and that’s more eyeballs on our blogs, more engagement on our social media pages, and more visits – and purchases – from our sales pages. What if there were an EASY way to do all of the above at a very affordable pricetag?
Enter the VIRTUAL Holiday Author Event.
|This 10-day virtual event, running from December 1st through December 10th, is designed to do just that. Give the reading public lots of incentives to visit your blog, website, and social media profiles and – if you do things right – to purchase your books. Day 1 kicks off with a Welcome Party, where each author is introduced via their headshots and images of their book covers. The authors themselves are encouraged to stop by this webinar and say hello in person!|
|Day 2 will feature a One-Day Blog Hop, where each author’s featured blog post for this event is listed, and the reading public is encouraged to visit and comment on all the posts in order to be entered to win prizes.|
|On Day 3, we’ll encourage the reading public to check out our authors’ websites through a Virtual Treasure Hunt. The goal will be to answer a question about each author’s website in order to be entered in that day’s drawings.|
|We’ll spend our time together on Day 4 with a 3-hour Facebook Facebook Party, during which the reading public will be encouraged to ask our authors questions about their books and writing process. For every comment or share on the event page, they will receive an entry into that day’s drawings.|
|Day 5 is Videos R US. With video as the still fastest growing segment of the web, we’ll post links to all our authors’ videos (whether they appear on YouTube, Vine, another video platform, or their own websites) and encourage our the reading public to make comments on the videos in order to be entered into that day’s drawings.|
|Our authors and the reading public will mix it up on Day 6 by joining any of three Author Tweet Chats (9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 7 p.m. PST). This fast-paced event will call on our authors to keep it short and pithy as they field questions from readers and answer them in 140 characters or less.|
|Day 7 will require a little creativity on the part of our authors as we head into Infographic Mania. Even fiction authors can play by delivering information about their books in a graphic format. We’ll encourage the reading public to comment on and rePin our authors’ infographics on their various Pinterest pages.|
|If you haven’t Periscoped yet, Day 8 is for you. We’ll use the SUPER-easy Twitter video app to profile each author’s cover, and the reading public will share the love by sending hearts and/or commenting while the video is streaming live.|
|Day 9 brings us to the Instagram Word Jumble, where the reading public will don their puzzle-solving hats to answer a word scramble presented through the titles on our authors’ book covers.|
||Beyond the daily event fun, authors may also opt to enter the Cover Contest and/or First Chapter Contest – which the reading public will judge. They will vote in the contests by liking, commenting on, and sharing each entry in order to be entered to win copies of the winning books, along with T-shirts featuring the winning books’ covers. The authors whose cover and first chapter have the most engagement will win 25 printed books (provided by Author2Market.com), a news release about their award, and more!|
|We’ll tie a big red bow around the event on Day 10 with a Wrap-Up Party, where we’ll announce the Cover Contest and First Chapter Contest winners, give away great prizes, and give folks a last chance to purchase books from our authors.|

Whether your schedule permits you to participate in just one event or to join us for all 10 days, the only way you can go wrong is by NOT taking part. Just want to join the Cover Contest and/or First Chapter Contest? Those are only $10 per entry, too. There is no place on the web where you can beat this exposure right before the holidays!
